FOLK CONCERT for Missions – a Benefit to Disaster Relief

Lovely music in a lovely space on Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 PM

Plan on coming to beautiful First Parish Church on the Village Green in Manchester-by-the-Sea for an afternoon of mellow folk music. Putnam Smith and Ashley Storrow – “The Early Risers” – bring their voices and instruments together to support Disaster Relief by Church World Service.

Please come join the event!  Ample parking is available behind the Police Station.

First Parish Church is expanding our Missions to respond to disasters that may strike anytime, anywhere without warning.  When hurricanes, fires, floods, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions or earthquakes leave us feeling troubled and helpless, Church World Service is there providing relief ministries.

Missions giving for our church reaches out to local organizations that make a difference to folks in need, including The Open Door, Grace Center, Action, Inc., Lifebridge and Beverly Bootstraps.  We have planned the event on March 22 to support Church World Service as a way of extending our reach.  Donations are voluntary.

You will enjoy Putnam and Ashley and their many instruments; Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin, Piano and Shruti-box. They have played in notable venues like Club Passim and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. On the radio, their recent album “Making Life Sweet” climbed to Number One on the Folk DJ charts last November.  Their original music has been called “comfort food”.
