Summer already?! Wow, time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been a wonderful Spring season together as we celebrated Holy Week, welcomed new members, baptized babies and more!
I look forward to the rhythms of the Summer. It’s a season for some breathing room. A time for both relaxation and community connection. In our fast-paced world, the idea of slowing down can sometimes feel
counterintuitive. However, this summer I invite each of you to embrace the art of slowing down and savoring the present moment. Whether it’s taking a leisurely stroll through Masconomo Park, enjoying a quiet moment of
reflection by the water, or simply sipping a cold glass of lemonade on a lazy afternoon, let’s allow ourselves the gift of slowing down and being fully present in each moment. As part of our commitment to supporting each
other’s well-being, I encourage you to prioritize self-care and relaxation this summer. Whether it’s through practicing mindfulness, spending time in nature, or engaging in activities that bring you joy, make time to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.
Summer has a magical way of bringing people together. Whether it’s through backyard barbecues, community picnics, or outdoor concerts, there’s something about the warmth of the sun and the beauty of nature that inspires us to connect with one another. Let’s take advantage of these opportunities to strengthen our bonds as a church family, and to reach out to the wider community.
We will celebrate our way through the month of June with a celebration of the Church Choir on 6/9, Children’s Sunday/Father’s Day on 6/16, and Worship-by-the-Sea at Tuck’s Point on 6/23. And then it’s on to
Independence Day. I am so excited for my first 4th of July in Manchester.
Keep your eyes on the e-newsletter and bulletin for announcements about summer outings, including a few service projects and museum trips. We’ll let the Spirit blow through July and August with a sermon series on beloved hymns. And don’t forget the All-Ages Art Show and the Fair-by-the-Sea in August!
As we journey through summertime, may we find solace in the warmth of community and the gentle embrace of slowing down. Wishing you all a summer filled with love, laughter, and abundant blessings.
Rev. Katherine
