Dear First Parish Church,
Back on April 11th I had the great joy of joining a group of FPC folks at the Annual Fundraising Luncheon for Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn. I am so glad that FPC supports this organization financially, and that some of our church members are regular volunteers for the program. But I had no idea how thoroughly inspired and moved I would be hearing these girls share their stories, and their hopes for the future. The highlight for me was when a chorus of 20 or so girls, from elementary school to high school, recited the Girl’s Inc. Bill of Rights. I just had to share it with you.
Coming up this May, we will continue to work with Susan Turnbull on our Legacy Letters (Session 2 – April 27, Session 3 – May 4). We will also have a New Member Info Session after worship on May 18th for anyone who is interested in learning more about FPC, what church membership is all about, or how they might get more involved in the life of the church. We will also bid a fond farewell to our Gordon College Graduates (Alice and Shelby) and honor the selfless service of veterans on Memorial Day. In worship we will turn to the stories of the early Christian Church, following in the footsteps of Peter, Paul and the other Apostles.
May the blessings of Eastertide – new life, hope and transformation – be with you today, tomorrow, and everyday.
Blessings,
Rev. Katherine
