Dear First Parish Church,
What a joy it is to see Manchester-by-the-Sea in full bloom after a long and hard winter. Easter is all around us! As the days warm up it’s the perfect time to get out and serve in our community. We have lots of opportunities for service coming up. On May 2nd (rain date May 9th) we will partner with the Manchester-Essex Conservation Trust for a trail cleanup. And then, through the month of May we will highlight the work of Action Inc. and collect hygiene products for those in need in our community (read on for more details).
In worship this May we will begin a sermon series on Paul’s letter to the Romans considered by many to be his magnum opus. As Paul writes to this church community – seated in the heart of empire – he shares the Good News of Jesus and shapes the theology of the early church. In May we will also celebrate baptisms and receive new members (May 2nd), honor our mothers and mothering figures in our lives (May 10th), feel the winds of Pentecost blow (May 24th) and celebrate our magnificent FPC Choir (May 31st – with special guest preacher Dr. Herman Weiss).
There is a lot to look forward to!
May the blessings of Eastertide – new life, hope and transformation – be with you today, tomorrow, and everyday.
Blessings,
Rev. Katherine
