Dear First Parish Church,
As we move into November, the season of thanksgiving, a month often associated with gratitude and reflection, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each of you. Your ongoing support and engagement make our shared path richer and more meaningful.
Giving Thanks for Our Church Family
This month, let’s take time to appreciate the ways we encourage one another. Whether through acts of service, shared moments in worship, or simply being present for each other, we are building God’s kingdom in our corner of the world. I am grateful for the many leaders and volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to our ministries, and for each member who brings their unique gifts to our gatherings. This month in worship we will hear from church members about what inspires them to share their time, talents and treasure with First Parish. We will also hold a New Members Info Session on November 9th following worship for anyone who wants to know more about getting involved or joining FPCC.
Living Gratitude in the Community
I am so grateful for the many ways our church has reached out to the community this fall. Artists, costumed kiddos, and dogs of every variety were the recipients of your hospitality, encouragement and good cheer. This is what it means to live our faith out in the community.
As winter approaches we’re also mindful of others in our community who are in deep need. What a gift it has been to hear from representatives of the local social service agencies we support during the month of October. It was inspiring to learn about how our church’s donations are directly helping those struggling the most.
Upcoming in Worship
Mark your calendars for our All Saints worship service on Sunday, November 2nd, when we will remember loved ones and church members who have passed away. Then, on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 23rd, we will bless and consecrate our stewardship pledges – with songs of celebration and gratitude on our lips.
In gratitude and peace,
Rev. Katherine
