Dear First Parish Church,
As we move into November, a month often associated with gratitude and reflection, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each of you. Your presence, support, and commitment to our community enrich our shared journey in profound ways.
Giving Thanks for Our Church Family
This month, let’s take time to appreciate the ways we uplift one another. Whether through acts of service, shared moments in worship, or simply being present for each other, we are building a tapestry of love and support. I am grateful for the many leaders and volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to our ministries, and for each member who brings their unique gifts to our gatherings. This month in worship we will hear from church members about what inspires them to share their time, talents and treasure with First Parish. We will also hold a New Members Info Session on November 17th following worship for anyone who wants to know more about getting involved or joining FPCC.
Living Gratitude in the Community
I am flooded with gratitude as I recount the many ways our church has reached out to the community this fall. Artists, carnival goers, costumed kiddos, and dogs of every variety were the recipients of your hospitality, encouragement and good cheer. The word is really spreading about our church’s commitment to live our faith beyond the four walls of our sanctuary. We’re planting seeds of kindness and hope.
As the weather turns cooler we’re also mindful of others in our community who are in deep need. I give thanks to God for our Stephen’s Ministers who are helping to meet the needs of those grappling with challenging life circumstances, loneliness, spiritual struggles and more. And I look forward to working with the Service and Outreach committee to provide financial support to organizations doing powerful good throughout Cape Ann. As we near Thanksgiving let us each find ways to embody the love of Christ in our community and beyond.
Upcoming in Worship
Mark your calendars for our All Saints worship service on Sunday, November 3rd, when we will remember loved ones and church members who passed away this year. Then, on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 24th, we will bless and consecrate our stewardship pledges – with songs of celebration and gratitude on our lips.
In gratitude and peace, Rev. Katherine
