“Let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.” – 1 John 3:18
Dear First Parish,
As the leaves begin to change and we embrace the beauty of fall, October invites us into a season of both reflection and action. In the rhythm of harvest, we are reminded that we, too, are called to bear fruit—not just in our faith, but in how we live it out in the world.
Central to our faith, and our identity as a church, is a commitment to reaching out in service to others. This month in worship we will welcome guest speakers from three local social service agencies, Action Inc. (10/12), Lifebridge (10/19), and Cape Ann Veterans Services (10/26). All three organizations work diligently to address the needs of the most vulnerable in our community. As a church we not only support these organizations financially, but also seek out ways to partner with them through volunteer opportunities and relationship building. When we serve others, we become living sermons—preaching Christ not with words, but with presence.

It’s thrilling to feel the energy buzzing in the air this fall. Thank you all for stepping up in ways big and small. What a beautiful thing we are building, together with God!
Blessings, Rev. Katherine
